Honor Society working on new music, Allstar Weekend is crazy for tomatoes, Destinee and Paris at Despicable Me premiere, Keke Palmer at BET Awards, Radio Disney fans love music, 16 Wishes on Disney Channel, LoveSpill event ads more to the lineup

June 28th, 2010

Quote of the Day:

“Just wanna say we miss all of you! Just know we’re writing brand new songs about everything on our hearts.. Hope you guys will like them!”

Honor Society

Put your tomatoes up! Allstar Weekend just posted a clip that sure to be a hit on YouTube. Just after receiving some swag (t-shirts,bandanas and hats) from Nature Sweet (Tomatoes) the guys break out into a freestyle a capella performance.

Yesterday, Interscope recording artists Destinee and Paris Monroe walked the yellow carpet at the Despicable Me premiere hosted at the LA Live Nokia Center. The girls took some time for shots with Pharrell, music supervisor for the Despicable Me music soundtrack, and with some minion’s. Destinee and Paris are featured on the song I’m On a Roll produced by Pharrell for the movie soundtrack. Steve Carell, James Marsden, Julie Andrews and Miranda Cosgrove were on hand for the event as well.

JONAS L.A., Allstar Weekend Making It Big, Mikey Martinez, The Veronicas on Ultimate School Musical, Varsity Fanclub with new video, Family Day at CBS Backlot

May 6th, 2010

First it was S Club 7, then S Club 7 in Miami, S Club in L.A., and the S Club in Hollywood. This summer, JONAS will follow the path British pop stars S Club 7 made over 10 years ago with their comedy series. The first episode of JONAS L.A. will premiere Sunday, June 20th at 7:30pm Central on Disney Channel. The new episodes will showcase music performances and comedy with an authentic portrayal of a band of brothers navigating new waters. The production will go stage-less and will be produced entirely on location. Musically, the soundtrack will include 13 new songs including L.A. Baby (Where Dreams Are Made Of), Chillin’ in the Summertime and Your Biggest Fan.

The second season of fun delves into individual storylines as Kevin, Joe and Nick – and their security chief, Big Man – are fresh off their world concert tour and ready for a summer vacation in a rental house high atop the Hollywood Hills. As they begin their left coast adventure, two familiar faces, Stella and Macy, join them and wind up sharing a nearby guesthouse with Stella’s aunt Lisa. Now, the five friends take off on a summer of fun, especially after they meet their gregarious neighbor, DZ.

Despite months of anticipation, Joe and Stella encounter detours on the road to “Joella,” mainly since he’s met free-spirited actress Vanessa Page, who’s helping him pursue his acting ambition. After auditioning in a room filled with “Joes,” he lands a role in Vanessa’s new movie, and their mercurial working relationship quickly spurs rumors of “Jonessa.” While on the movie set, Kevin gets his long sought chance to learn film directing, and manages to steer around the abrasive manner of his mentor, famed director Mona Klein. Meanwhile, Nick writes new songs for the band and is pleasantly surprised by his growing friendship with Macy, which makes him want to prove he’s more than just a world famous rock star.

Allstar Weekend has a brand new Making It Big video at Radio Disney.com. One thing worth looking forward to is a studio mix of their song Hey Princess that plays toward the end. The guys have also announced two new shows, so get your planners out and reserve these dates (with Emily Osment).

June 27 Chicago, IL – Grant Park
July 31 Denver, CO – Elitch Gardens Theme Park

Let me tell you about shawty! Michael Martinez (Allstar Weekend) has a brand new MySpace account online featuring his smooth new R&B track, Babygirl. What I can’t help but wonder is how long until we get to see a music video to this track with his electric footwork. I knew the drums weren’t gonna hold this boy back from doing something else.

Lisa and Jess of The Veronicas recently paid a visit to Australia’s FOX show Ultimate School Musical. Click here to listen to their advice to those dreaming to become performers and get a sneak preview of their new song Could’ve Been.

The fun never stops for Varsity Fanclub. In their latest video, you can join them Downtown Disney (Anaheim, CA) for some fun in the Baby Store and browse the menu at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express.

Last weekend the T.J. Martell Foundation hosted Family Day at the CBS Studios Backlot. Familiar faces at the event included Austin Anderson, Benji Caya, Kelly Heyer (Pregnancy Pact), Michelle DeFraites (Pregnancy Pact), TC Carter (Varsity Fanclub) and Zoe Myers.
