Stevie Brock reflects on being a pop star, Fifth Harmony finalizing new album, Carly Rae Jepsen announces new shows, Harrison Ford and Star Wars fan event, Zendaya in Marie Claire

December 11th, 2015

“Kids at my school used to make fun of me for being a “pop star.” By the time I reached 14 years old, I had traveled to 36 of the 50 states, played 150+ shows, released an album and been on 4 major label compilation albums, and met thousands and thousands of amazing people. Most of those kids are sleeping in their parents’ basements right now and the only documentation they have from 7th grade is some crumpled up detention slips and a mixtape they made with 50 Cent and Ja Rule songs. I have certificates of recognition from The Ronald McDonald House, albums that I made of Stevie Brock songs, awards from PopStar! Magazine, Radio Disney tour passes with my name as a headliner, and hundreds of personalized gifts and photo albums from fans, among other accomplishments. I don’t like to put other people down, especially for my own gain… But I believe those kids deserve to know that I get the last laugh. And sometimes I have to remind myself just how fortunate I’ve been and how truly proud of myself I am.”

– Stevie Brock
