April 9th, 2014

Still #1! Frozen will remain at the top of album sales by barely edging 5 Seconds Of Summer.

MTV has announced that Zendaya will join Tyler Posey and MTV’s Josh Horwitz and Christina Garibaldi to host the 2014 MTV Movie Awards pre-show.

Austin Mahone has confirmed that he will be presenting and performing at the 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards. Last week, Lucy Hale was added as a presenter.

On Monday night, OK! Magazine hosted the Jason Derulo first-listen of his new album at 1OAK Los Angeles. The private event full of tastemakers and special guests including girlfriend Jordin Sparks, Lil Romeo, Justin Bird (Millionaire Matchmaker), Antonique Smith enjoyed sounds by DJ Reflex and even a special impromptu performance from the man of the hour.

Hollywood Ending will be releasing their new EP, Anywhere on April 25th! In June, the group will be heading to the UK to support it with The Anywhere Tour.

Check it out! The Summer Set‘s new music video for Lightning in a Bottle is now live at YouTube.

ABC Family has released new promo photos for their new scripted series, cancer drama Chasing Life. The show starring Italia Ricci is scheduled to premiere on June 10th.

Yesterday, Kellan Lutz, star of the Legend of Hercules and upcoming Expendables 3, and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition model Tori Praver, presented a check to The New York Yankees Foundation and New York Yankees pitcher Matt Thornton on behalf of Buffalo David Bitton. The New York Yankees Foundation is made up of the various community programs and organizations that they work with throughout each year.

Zendaya teams up with Coca-Cola for The AHH Effect, Megan and Liz cover Stay, Yahoo poaching YouTube talent, Tonight Alive brings their show to the jumbotron, Noelle Bean and Jamison Murphy advance in Ryan Seacrest’s March Music Madness, Mackenzie Ziegler’s new single – It’s A Girl Party, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting on the cover of Cosmopolitan

April 2nd, 2014

Zendaya has teamed up with Coca-Cola for a brand new cover of the hit song Safe and Sound by Capital Cities. In the video, Zendaya is joined by Max Schneider, Kina Grannis and Kurt Hugo Schneider to promote “The AHH Affect.”

“The AHH Effect” is producing content based on the creative ideas of teens, too! Through April 10, teens can submit a 15-second video sharing what it feels like when they take a sip of Coke at ahh.com/ThisisAHH for a chance to be featured in a Coca-Cola TV commercial.

The Nashville-a-fication continues with Megan & Liz! Check out their cover of Stay, made famous by Florida Georgia Line. The combination of Country and Pop is definitely magical with these two!

Are some of YouTube‘s Top Stars going somewhere else? Last week, Recode broke the news that Yahoo “has been working on a plan to lure some of YouTube’s most popular stars and networks to show their stuff on the site.” One of the reasons why Yahoo feels they can succeed with their plan is by significantly offering talent more money. Currently YouTube takes a 45 percent cut of ad revenue generated by user videos. So much for Google “not being evil?”

Living large! On their recent tour with Taking Back Sunday and The Used it appears as if Tonight Alive ss making the most of the days when their not performing. On Monday night the group took in their first NBA game at the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO. The game went down to the wire with the Grizzlies beating the Nuggets 94-92. Of course, that wasn’t the only fun they had… Whak lead the gang in some dancing to Michael Jackson‘s Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough during a timeout that ended up on the jumbtotron! You can see a snippet on the bands official Instagram.

Ryan Seacrest’s March Music Madness is now down to 7 finalists for the best cover of A Great Big World’s hit Say Something. Once again, fans have kept Noelle Bean & Jamison Murphy on the list. You can vote for them every 12 hours on at RyanSeacrest.com.

Dance Moms fans, are you ready for some high energy teen pop? Mackenzie Ziegler‘s new single, It’s A Girl Party is scheduled to drop any moment at iTunes!

Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, star of The Big Bang Theory, is the Cosmopolitan May cover girl, on stands April 8th! When asked about how she felt about landing on the May she said, “A Cosmo cover has been my dream my entire life… I cried when I found out.”

Orange Country Fair 2014 includes Zendaya Fifth Harmony Lucy Hale, Zoe Keating shares sales dates, Action Item Ask AI series 2, RCA discusses toning down the Bangerz Tour, Radio Disney Music Mailbag Results, Star-Crossed ratings drop, Yanina Studilina in Stalingrad, The Cream Pies appearing at Bill’s Donut Shop

February 26th, 2014

The Orange County Fair has announced their first wave of artists scheduled to perform at the Pacific Amphitheatre. Acts worth checking out are Zendaya & Fifth Harmony on July 18th and Billy Currington & Lucy Hale on August 7th!

Must read! The Guardian has a new story that breaks down the income earned online by Cellist Zoë Keating. As expected, a high percentage of that comes from music sales instead of streams. What’s really interesting is that it’s not Spotify and Pandora at the bottom of the list when it comes to streaming. YouTube is the biggest offender paying $.00064 per stream (1/7th of what Spotify pays).

Action Item has release episode 2 of their Ask AI video series. This time it’s David talking about his favorite heroes, pancakes/waffles, travel destinations, down time, and much more!

The Daily Beast is reporting that RCA Records and the Bangerz Tour staff “have been discussing ways to tone the show down.” One of their main concerns is that they see the show being used as a “catalyst for a concert-rating system, similar to what exists for albums, movies and video games.”

Last weekend, the song Forever by Haim received a 57 percent Pick on the Radio Disney Music Mailbag.

It’s not looking good. On Monday, The CW’s Star-Crossed drew a .3 rating with Adults 18-49. This represents a decline from the weak numbers from the premiere of the show on February 17th.

Stalingrad the epic Russian film by Director Fedor Bondarchuk will be shown in 300 US IMAX theaters starting February 28th. The film stars (among others) Yanina Studilina, the bad girl from the popular Russian teen series Ranetki. It is the first non-American movie filmed in IMAX 3D.

Capitalizing on the buzz they got from their appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Cream Pies f/Stevie Brock will be appearing tomorrow at Bill’s Donut Shop in Centerville, OH from 6pm to 8pm. Get the full story at DaytonDailyNews.com.
