With less than one month to go until their debut release on Hollywood Records, Cherri Bomb gets demoted at Wikipedia. Yes, once again we’ve got a credible act getting ready to launch the next phase of their career and Wikipedia Editor, Malik Shabazz, deleted their page on Saturday. Apparently after making contributions to the categories of Malcolm X and Anarchism he feels he’s ready to be a taste maker? (Last night a new page was created, lets hope it stays up).

Last night on Dancing with the Stars Roshon Fegan put on a solid Latin themed salsa that judge Carrie Ann Inaba praised as being “sexy in a Disney way.” He ended up with a total of 26 points placing 5th out of the 9 contestants. Here’s a few pictures from the Lacoste L!ve Pool Party at Coachella presented by HTC on Saturday in Thermal, CA. I guess someone still thinks they’re still relevant? On Monday, I happened to see a tweet about a feature at The Hollywood Reporter to promote MTV celebrating their 30th Birthday. It was titled MTV: 30 Years of Music Videos, and the byline read “The famed music network just celebrated its third decade. See which artists have MTV to thank for their song’s successes in the channel’s early years.” I clicked through the slide show and my jaw dropped when I saw Billie Jean by Michael Jackson in the list. If anyone should be thanking anyone, it should be MTV thanking Michael for putting them on the map, not the other way around. Not only had he achieved multiple #1 singles as part of the Jackson Five, but had four top 10 hits on his debut, Off The Wall. An album that reached #3 on Billboard and scored Michael three American Music Awards. Michael was a household name and selling millions of albums long before the Billie Jean music video hit MTV.

Despite the fact I’m not a fan of Wikipedia, at least they get it right on their page about Michael Jackson. It goes as far as to say “The music videos for his songs, including those of “Beat It”, “Billie Jean”, and “Thriller”, were credited with transforming the medium into an art form and a promotional tool, and the popularity of these videos helped to bring the relatively new television channel MTV to fame.” Touche’ – Lauren Schutte and David Simpson, it’s time to treat the King of Pop with a little more respect.
