Taylor Swift skips on giving Radio Disney a rub, Austin Mahone to perform at Allegan County Fair, Macy’s iHeart Radio Rising Star, Iron Man 3 opens big, Disney twenty-three coming on May 14th

May 6th, 2013

Now that the Radio Disney Music Awards have been broadcast for all to hear there’s one thing that stands out – the words Taylor Swift used on video to accept her two awards. Keep in mind, she was told in advance that she won two awards and was asked to record an acceptance speech on video. Therefore her message wasn’t a spur of the moment comment, but a well thought out message that was probably written or outlined by her management.

Hit the Road: Best Breakup Song Acceptance

Hey guys it’s Taylor. I’m actually on the road right now on the Red Tour. Umm, and I have a show tonight or else I would be there with you. I have friends that are there tonight, I wish I was there because you guys just gave me the Best Breakup Song Award – thanks, that was nice of you. Umm, I really appreciate it and I will never, ever, ever, ever forget it. Like ever.

Bestest Song Of The Year Acceptance

Guys thank you so much, this is unbelievable to get the Bestest Song Of The Year Award, and especially to get that award for ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ which is one of my favorite songs that I’ve written, and you guys are honoring it tonight. Thank you so much! Umm… come out to a show, hopefully I’ll see you soon. Thank you for everything. Night!

So, what was missing and what did she forget to say? Here’s a hint – all of the biggest artists (Bridgit Mendler, Justin Bieber, One Direction, Selena Gomez) that won mentioned “Radio Disney” or the “Radio Disney Music Awards.” In other words, she didn’t validate the station or the awards show in anyway. In the industry they call that a rub and obviously Taylor or her management wasn’t willing to give it. Ouch!
