Olivia Holt (Kickin’ It) has some big news to share regarding her new song! “I am beyond excited that one of the songs I sang for DCOM Girl vs Monster, Had Me @Hello will be planet premiering on Radio Disney this Friday, September 21 at 4pm PT. I love this song… it has a great beat and has a really cool vibe, about a girl and a guy having a crush on each other.” On October 16th, Had Me @Hello, along with two other songs by Olivia will be released by Walt Disney Records on the Make Your Mark: Ultimate Playlist compilation.

Billboard has announced this years 21 Under 21 list of who they ‘think’ are music’s most powerful minors. While this list is definitely worthy of bragging rights, you can bet each of the acts listed have a top tier PR team that helped secure their spot. That of course explains why some questionable names have ranked so high in the past and still do. In 2011, the 2nd spot went to Tyler, The Creator who hasn’t done much in the last year aside from getting arrested at one of his shows. In 2010, the 4th spot went to powerhouse vocalist Charice who was pushed, repackaged, and pushed then again without gaining much traction.
One name not returning to the list after a two year run is Greyson Chance. He is such a talented guy, but has struggled to connect with teens and his routine has grown stale (as I’ve stated in past reviews). Maybe in a few more years he’ll be in a better place and his music will be a better fit with his age.
Then of course there’s one absence I’m still scratching my head about. Once again, firecracker Ariana Grande gets snubbed. Say what?
My last thoughts on the list is that we’ve got some big names that will not be returning next year as they celebrate their 21st Birthdays, including: Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez. Wow… talk about some of the biggest names on the list! Also, here’s to newcomers Megan & Liz – the dream isn’t over yet! Also, another nice surprise was Cherri Bomb who made the Ones To Watch list. This summer they managed to garner some great reviews while on the Warped Tour.

Outasight released the official video for his single, Now or Never exclusively on Karmaloop. “The Now or Never video was one of those videos that was as fun to shoot as it actually looked.” Richard Andrew aka Outasight says of the filming process. “We just wanted to match the energy and positivity of the song, so a bunch of us got together and had a good time. I mean, we threw pounds of dry ice into someone’s indoor pool and chainsawed off the roof of a car. Only in videos can you get away with that!”

Honor Society‘s new release, Serendipity made quite an impact on the iTunes charts. The EP peaked on the iTunes Albums chart at 70, and it spent the majority of the day on the Rock Albums chart at 11. What’s most impressive about this is that these phenomenal statistics don’t include the 563 copies of Serendipity that their most loyal fans received as a gift for supporting the bands Kickstarter campaign.

On September 29th, iHeart Radio Presents: The Last Day of Summer with Action Item at Macy’s in Garden State Plaza (Paramus, NJ). The free event starts at 3pm and the first 100 fans to arrive will get to participate in a Meet & Greet.
