As expected, Zendaya Coleman rocked Dancing with the Stars last night with her dance partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy. The two easily outperformed the other contestants with a high score of 24. It’s exciting, but a sad reminder of many other great performances by teens on the show. To some it up best, I’ll use comments by Ethan Sacks of New York Daily News.

Zendaya Coleman may be 16, but it doesn’t take long to realize the Disney Channel star (on “Shake It Up,” as any father of a nine year old girl knows) is light years more seasoned than everyone else in the competition. It’s almost unfair, since she’s a trained hip hop dancer, but her Achilles heel will be that most of the voting public that knows her is asleep by 8 pm.

Yesterday, Op and Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) threw an indoor pool party in New York City to celebrate Op’s Spring/Summer collection. Sarah was on hand to speak about her must-haves for summer including the white terry cloth romper, the pink and white fringe bikini, the watermelon and pineapple bikinis, and the flamingo bikini. (Pictured above Sarah in Op’s “Paradise” tank top, from the spring summer collection, exclusively available at Walmart.)

February 5th, 2013

Over two years ago when Shake It Up premiered on Disney Channel, the first scene featured Rocky & Cece dancing on the train platform to BG5‘s infectious dance track Scratch. Shortly after the episode aired Hollywood Records announced they had signed the act. Six months later I had heard BG5′s management couldn’t come to terms with the label and they asked for their release. Late last year, the group under new management changed their name to YLA (Young LA) and began work to hit the ground running in 2013. Next week the group will be headed to the set of Shake It Up to shoot a segment for an upcoming episode. Hmmm… wonder if they might be headed back to Hollywood?

Here’s a little something to get excited about. Yesterday Nick Jonas captured a few moments from the studio on his iPhone and uploaded them to Ustream. It’s not much, but it’s more than enough to get fans excited for the Jo Bros return 2013.
