Yesterday, Demi Lovato began teasing her upcoming album on Twitter. The singer posted several tweets that read “I’ve never been more confident in my sound. Never been so sure of who I am as an artist. Never felt this hungry and driven. I can’t describe my new sound… The only word that comes to mind is authentic. Very very authentic to who I am & the voice I have inside. What I can say is this will be my best work yet… Already game changing music and I’ve barely scratched the surface on creating this album. I am going to sing my heart out more than I’ve ever sang before.. To the sound that I’ve spent my whole life trying to identify.. I’m ready.”

Jesse McCartney concert review, MKTO concept at YahooMusicMegan and Liz returning to Mall of America, 1 Girl Nation covers Colbie Caillat, The Tragic Thrills announce release date for self-titled album, Left Behind coming to theaters October 3rd

August 7th, 2014

On Wednesday, Jesse McCartney appeared in Orlando, FL for his In Technicolor Tour and it proved to be one magical night! As usual, things were a little behind schedule, which made for quite the visual as fans literally wrapped all the way around the House of Blues awaiting for the doors to open. Shortly after the crowd was let into the venue, pop singer Guinevere came out and performed a variety of covers along with her own songs, including her single Ran For My Life.

After a long intermission, the curtains opened and it was on! Jesse lead the band on his MPC in an instrumental that lead into the vocal intro to How Do You Sleep. At that moment, any doubts of Jesse’s return were cast aside as he glided through the vocals and joined his backup dancers for some fun choreography.

Throughout the night, Jesse stuck to his original formula, a brilliant mix of Pop, R&B, and Rock with seamless transitions. Of course it didn’t hurt that he had a back band that could deliver and most importantly he gave every member and opportunity to shine. From the bass slapping at the end of All About Us, to the guitar work on Checkmate there was something for everyone. Even vocally, the duets with his back-up singer for It’s Over and Tie The Knot were unforgettable. And of course, Jesse showed off his talents on the MPC, Keyboards, and of course his voice – with some phenomenal falsetto on Back Together.

Best of all, the set list just worked. The new and the old tracks were carefully mixed together – most noticeably Jesse never performed more than two full-length songs back-to-back from In Technicolor.

And to finish of the night, there was that song, the song we all fell immediately in love with – Beautiful Soul. As I’ve said before, the live performance of that one song is worth the price of admission and it was. In addition to the performance, you could see a performer that was glad to be back and soaking in every moment of it. Clearly, the best show I’ve seen this year – Jesse is back and better than ever.
