Ariana Grande’s The Way certified Gold, Jonas Brothers have been added to Radio Disney playlist, Jason Derulo’s The Other Side just short of breaking Lady Gaga’s record, iHeart Radio Rising Star is getting interesting, Drew Seeley and Amy Paffrath return from Honeymoon, The Civil Wars to release new album late summer, The Good Mad announces two shows, Oz The Great and Powerful coming to Blu-ray on June 11th, Thomas Kasp to appear on NBC’s Community

May 2nd, 2013

Congrats! Ariana Grande‘s debut single, The Way has been certified Gold.

After a month of deliberations, Radio Disney has added the Jonas Brothers new single, Pom Poms to their playlist. The song was first tested on the Music Mailbag on April 6th.

Jason Derulo‘s 2013 is shaping up to be one of his best yet. After premiering The Other Side via Ryan Seacrest’s radio program last week, the song has trumped the Top 40 charts becoming the #1 most added record in the format this year with over 120 adds across the country: just 25 stations short of the all-time record set by former touring mate Lady Gaga.

It’s starting to get interesting! In the last three days we’ve had three different artists at the #1 spot of Macy’s iHeart Radio Rising Star contest. After 31 days of voting, Jessie Malay has risen to the top for the first time. To cast your vote, visit Macys/iHeart.com/Macys.

Today Drew Seeley and his wife Amy Paffrath will return from their wedding adventure at sea. The 5 day/4 night excursion included stops in Key West and Cozumel, Mexico with family and friends. Pictures of the happy couple should be surfacing shortly.

The Civil Wars’ highly anticipated sophomore self-titled album will be released late summer 2013 on Sensibility Music/Columbia Records. This is the follow up to the three-time Grammy Award-winning duo’s acclaimed debut, Barton Hollow, which is now certified RIAA Gold in the U.S.

On May 11th, The Good Mad featuring Allie Gonino (The Lying Game) will be performing at the Willamette Valley Music Festival held at the University of Oregon. Fore more details, visit musicfest.uoregon.edu. Then on the 13th, they’ll be at High Dive in Seattle, WA.

Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful will once again provide audiences with a magical entertainment experience when it debuts for in-home release on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, Digital and On-Demand, June 11th.

Blu-ray Bonus Features:

Before Your Very Eyes: From Kansas to Oz – Production designer Robert Stromberg takes viewers through the set design of the Land of Oz, from sketching his original ideas on a napkin, through to the final set pieces and the accompanying visual effects.

Walt Disney and the Road to Oz – It is well known that Walt Disney had a fascination with the Land of Oz since he was a child. See how that fascination grew into inspiration as he began planning for his own adaptation of the stories in the classic Baum books.
