Interview with Joey King from Ramona and Beezus, JONAS L.A. sales not as impressive as they seem, Savvy and Mandy refresh their MySpace, Burnham receives a Pick on the music Mailbag, Sonny With A Chance rocks the ratings, Doug Brochu draws fans in Plainville CT, Mean Girls 2 begins production in Atlanta GA, Destinee and Paris live chat, Selena Gomez on TV

July 21st, 2010

It’s another new T2 interview – this time with Joey King, the star of the film Ramona and Beezus that opens in theaters this Friday. Click here to listen in as she talks about the movie, working with Selena Gomez, and her thoughts on what it was like shooting a water scene. Plus, details on what she’s hoping to get for her birthday next week.

Today at Noon (CST), you can join Joey King and Selena Gomez hosting a live online chat at Walden.com.

Yesterday the JONAS L.A. soundtrack went to #3 on the iTunes Album Chart. While it may sound impressive you should keep in mind that the iTunes Store is based on single sales – complete album sales rarely happen. In fact, in it’s first 24 hours not one song from JONAS L.A. made the top 30 and the highest selling song just barely cracked the Top 100 in single sales. For a more realistic picture of sales, here’s how the JONAS L.A. soundtrack songs performed against their peers.

14. Selena Gomez – Round and Round
32. David Archuleta – Something ‘Bout Love
33. Justin Bieber – Somebody To Love (Remix)
38. Hannah Montana – Ordinary Girl
50. Miley Cyrus – Can’t Be Tamed
78. We The Kings f/Demi Lovato – We’ll Be A Dream
88. Justin Bieber f/Jaden Smith – Never Say Never
92. Sean Kingston & Justin Bieber – Eenie Meenie
98. Jonas Brothers – Invisible
99. Justin Bieber – Somebody To Love
100. Miranda Cosgrove – Kissin U
102. Miley Cyrus – Party In The USA
105. Allstar Weekend – Dance Forever
112. Selena Gomez – Naturally
136. Big Time Rush – Famous
162. Taylor Swift – You Belong With Me
169. Jonas Brothers – Hey You
175. Jonas Brothers – L.A. Baby (Where Dreams Are Made Of)
189. Sean Kingston – Fire Burning
193. Taylor Swift – Today Was A Fairytale
200. Cast of Camp Rock 2 – It’s On

As Savvy & Mandy prep for the premiere of their new music video, they also have updated their MySpace with a brand new look.

Oops! Yesterday we had one item missing from the New Releases section. Jump Smokers, featuring Justin Roman (Making The Band and Vi3) released a new single called Faded. Help support Tommy2.Net by purchasing this release at iTunes. Here’s the link!

On Saturday, Burnham‘s debut single Catch Me If You Can received a PICK on the Radio Disney Music Mailbag. The on-air feature included a call from the brothers cousin Nicholas in addition to Andre and Forrest from Burnham casting a PICK IT vote.

Sunday’s Sonny With A Chance one-hour special rocked the ratings and were the highest in the shows history with 6.1 million total viewers. Even more impressive it earned 10.6 rating among Tweens 9-14. (Source: ABC- Nielsen Media Research)

Not only does Sonny With A Chance draw the ratings… but the crowds as well. On Sunday, Sonny With A Chance star Doug Brochu took time out of his schedule to make an appearance in Plainville, CT at the Hair Spa/Kids Cuts fundraiser for 3-year-old Matthew Cole Young. According the Hartford Courant‘s Mary Ellen Fillo, Brochu drew a lot of fans and also noted that his brother Chris Brochu went out of his way for fans.

Paramount Famous Productions has begun principal photography on its latest motion picture, Mean Girls 2, in Atlanta, GA. The long-awaited follow-up to the 2004 hit Mean Girls goes back to high school for more catty comedy with a cast that includes Meaghan Jette Martin (Camp Rock 1 & 2) as Jo and Jennifer Stone (Wizards of Waverly Place) will co-star as the independent-minded Abby. Maiara Walsh (Cory in the House) also stars as mean girl Mandi, along with Nicole Anderson (Jonas) and Claire Holt (H2O: Just Add Water) as the school’s ruling trio of “The Plastics.”  Additional cast includes Latin pop star Diego Boneta (Pretty Little Liars) as Tyler, Jo’s love interest and Tim Meadows (Grown Ups) who will reprise his role as the school’s principal, Mr. Duvall.

Tonight at 7pm (CST), Destinee & Paris will be chatting with fans live on CherrytreeRadio.com – Cherry Pie Live from Fort Lauderdale, FL!

The talk show circuit continues for Selena Gomez as as she promotes her new film, Ramona and Beezus. Tonight she’ll be on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon (ABC) and tomorrow morning she’ll be on Fox & Friends and the Today Show.
