Midnight Red rocks 50 people at Mall of America, The Summer of Love comes to a close, 98 degrees announces more plans, Radio Disney Top 30 Countdown, Everlife Flashback Photo, ABC Family renews shows, Lissa Lauria launches The I AM Movement

Yesterday, Midnight Red brought their high energy show to the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN. One problem, despite the fact the parking lots were at capacity and the place was wall to wall people for Back-to-School shopping, the group only managed to attract 50 people? Based on their Facebook page, 32 confirmed their attendance in advance. That would mean there were about 18 that were attracted by the music.
Despite it being a mall show, the sound system and mix was great. Even with the below average turnout – Anthony, Colton, Eric, Joey and Thomas put as much into the show as if they were performing in a sold out arena. Their dancing was on although there were a few places where they needed a little polishing. Vocally, they were on, although a few times towards the end of the songs during fills it felt as if they were pushing their range. Of course, the music rocked – especially as they finished the show with their two singles which prompted most of the fans to sing-along.
After their set, the guys took part in a meet and greet and were more than generous with those that stuck around. Fans were able to get multiple autographs, photos and had adequate time to dialogue with Anthony, Colton, Eric, Joey, and Thomas who were extremely friendly.
You can’t help but wonder what the future looks like as this band goes into their second summer of being on the road. Even with the low turnout, Management seems to be convinced they’ll sell out the upcoming show at the Gramercy (capacity 650) in New York. Obviously they’ve got great show, yet it seems like they’ve still got a long way to go with the marketing and at some point promo shows for 50 people isn’t going to cut it. For those of you anxious to see the guys, I’ve heard they’ve got some more new shows that they’ll be announcing in the next few days.

All good things must come to an end! Last night, The Summer of Love Tour featuring Allstar Weekend and Honor Society ended in Asbury Park, NJ.

Just weeks before MixTape Festival was to take place another special act was announced: 98 degrees. They originally announced that they were reuniting only to take part in this once in a life time festival. However, they appeared on the Today show on Friday to perform for the fans in New York. When the host asked what the future holds for the band they proudly said that they were having so much fun being back together that they are planning on recording a new CD and touring together!
Today the MixTape Festival concludes with a star filled game of baseball. NKOTB vs BSB also featuring Aaron Carter, Kelly Clarkson, 98 degrees, and many more. Nick Carter is NOT confirmed to be at the baseball game due to his solo show in Canada tonight.
