Ashley Tisdale shines on Access Hollywood!

The Soundtrack of America…. it appears that the soundtrack of High School Musical surpassed that of the new release ‘American Idol Season 5 – Encore’ in sales last week after early forecasts. (source: HITS Digital Ventures).

Encore has reported that the up-and-coming act ‘The Truth Squad’ has signed a managment deal with Bonnie Gallanter and the Premier Marketing Group. For more info, click here.

FeFe Dobson, Ben Jelen, Nick Canon and extreme juggler Marcus Monroe are being used as part of the new Eastsport ‘Back To School 2006′ advertising campaign. Their website has added the stars’ “backpacks of choice.” Click here to check them out.

Teddy Geiger has been booked to come to Minneapolis for a show at the Fine Line on July 30th.

Last night on the 2-hour AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 5 FINALE, there were plenty of very special moments. American Idol had their first ‘Golden Idol Awards’ which looked back on some of the memorable moments during the auditions and show. It even brought back some of the favorites from the auditioning rounds. Katharine and Taylor were also given a free Ford Mustang each! Becky O’Donohue from the Top 12 girls and her sister Jessie were in Birmingham, AL with the ‘Soul Patrol’ while Tamyra Gray was in Hollywood with the ‘McPhans’. Performances included:

Last night on AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 5, thousands of people packed the Kodak Theatre for part one of the finale, including: the other contestants from this season, Constantine Maroulis of Season 4, Mandy Moore, Adam Sandler, Tori Spelling (‘Beverly Hills 90210′), and many others. All of those people were there for one reason–to see Katharine McPhee and Taylor Hicks battle it out for your votes to become the next American Idol! They sang three songs each, including their debut singles that will be out in mid-June.

Yesterday, Nike and Apple Computer announced that they would be releasing new ‘Nike+iPod’ products including the ‘Sport Kit’. This new product allows you to place and accelerometer in your Nike shoe that will measure your activity and send it wirelessly to your iPod Nano.

The High School Musical song ‘Get’cha Head In The Game’ that was written by Drew Seeley, Roy Cham and Greg Cham has been submitted for an Emmy Nomination.

Superchic[k] will be re-releasing ‘Beauty From Pain’ on Columbia Records on July 18th. It will feature new mixes of three songs (‘Anthem’, ‘We Live’and ‘One Girl Revolution’ from their ‘Karaoke Superstars’ album) and a brand new song (‘Stand In The Rain’). Their song with tobyMac (‘Stories (Down To The Bottom)’) previously found on ‘Beauty From Pain’ has been left off.

Ticketmaster has announced that they’ll be joining ticket brokers across the country in scalping tickets. According to the New York Times, later this year Ticketmaster.com will begin using auctions to sell the best seats to concerts. To read the full article, click here.
