Billboard is reporting the album sales are looking bleak for 2014, and as a result not one artist-album has sold 1 million copies. Instead of looking backwards looking backwards with the data, how about looking forwards? Obviously it’s not been the best year, but wait a second – aren’t we’re just two weeks away from the release of Taylor Swift‘s 1989? If I recall correctly, her last album, Red, sold 1.2 million in it’s first week. Unfortunately, in the article at Billboard by Ed Christman, he never mentioned Taylor’s name once. Hmmm?

Warner Bros. Records has announced they will make a series of vinyl singles and albums available on November 28th in honor of Record Store Day’s Black Friday celebration. The series will include a 12″ Picture disc vinyl single of Cool Kids by Echosmith (limited to 3,000). This vinyl edition includes a previously unreleased remix by acclaimed remixer RAC (Tegan & Sara).

Now it’s time to Party! Mackenzie Ziegler‘s music video for It’s A Girl Party has passed 5 million views on YouTube in less than 6 months.

Lissa Lauria has released the music video for her latest single, One Day on Vevo.

Aaron Carter fans can pick up an advance digital copy of his upcoming single Ooh Wee by purchasing Ooh Wee merchandise at his online store.

The dog is back! Beethoven’s Treasure Tail is now available on Digital HD and Blu-ray Combo pack October 28th.

Sam Miller from Paradise Fears has taken to Tumblr to post an update from the Live Forever Tour. It features some great observations including “While I was on stage in Akron I had a really cool moment of realization. I was watching people sing one of our songs back to us, and I realized that they weren’t mine anymore. The songs now belonged so much less to us, who brought them into existence, and belonged more to the people who were now giving them life.”

On September 3rd, Jordan Fisher will release his new single, What I Got. You can pre-order the song on iTunes.

Radio Disney Classic Rewind – Jeopardy, Hollywood Ending’s first show, Taylor Swift performance analyzed, Mackenzie Ziegler releases lyric video for Shine, Plug In Stereo to release self-titled album, Tonight Alive on Kerrang! podcast, Lights to perform special show at Hard Rock Cafe New York, Joey King rocks out to Aaron Carter

August 27th, 2014

Remember when… Radio Disney was featured as an answer on Jeopardy? Sadly, those days are long gone and serve as a reminder of the power that the Kids’ Radio Network once had.

Three years ago today Hollywood Ending performed their first show in Michigan.

Did you love Taylor Swift‘s performance at the MTV VMAs or were you cringing? I didn’t watch it, but I probably would’ve been cringing as many of you know I’m not a fan of seeing performers hide behind pre-recorded tracks. The Concourse has posted a clip with her vocals isolated, and it ain’t pretty. (Update: Most of the videos online from her performance including MTV.com have been removed and Viacom has made The Concourse shorten the length of the isolated clip).

FYI: Sometime within’ the last five years I wrote a very critical review of an act on a national tour with T2 featured acts that lip sync’d the majority of their set. I received feedback from some fans that complained, but believe it or not when I got a chance to see that show a few months later in another state I was thanked by the supporting acts and even the headliner for being the only one to write about what they considered the most embarrassing thing about that tour. (If you ever see me in person you can ask and I’ll tell you the full story).

The lyric video for Mackenzie Ziegler‘s inspirational new single, Shine is now on YouTube. Say what you want but this girl is going places and we’re long overdue for some young talent. #girlparty

Plug In Stereo has announced a September 2nd release for a new 10 track, self-titled album, the final release before retiring the project and moving on to a new solo project.

Kerrang! caught up with Jenna and Cam from Tonight Alive at the 2014 Reading Festival for a quick interview. It includes details that the group will soon be playing their album The Other Side live in it’s entirety from start to finish and Jenna once again talks about her favorite show by… Ricky Martin.

Lights will perform a very special show at Hard Rock Cafe New York in Times Square on September 30th, as the 2014 Artist Ambassador for Pinktober, Hard Rock’s annual campaign for breast cancer awareness. The 18+ show begins at 7 pm and is free with RSVP.

Here’s one more reason to love actress Joey King! Last night she tweeted a screen grab of Aaron Carter‘s 2000 release, Aaron’s Party (Come Get It).

7pm CST – So You Think You Can Dance: Top 4 Perform (FOX)

7pm CST – Young & Hungry: Young & Thirty (…and Getting Married) (ABC Family)
Josh and Caroline’s wedding gets pushed up, leading a frantic Caroline to forget Josh’s birthday. Gabi then allows Caroline to present her very special gift for Josh as her own, but Josh’s reaction to the present makes Gabi regret doing that.

7:30pm CST – Footloose (VH1)
An urban teen moves to a rural Midwestern town where dancing is outlawed and fights to stage a high-school prom complete with dancing. He also falls for a local girl whose minister dad is behind the dirty dancing boycott.

7:30pm CST – Mystery Girls: The Killer Returns (ABC Family)
