When you say larger than life rock stars, one act comes to mind… The Veronicas. Of course in terms of rock stars that means, an insanely talented act who’s own self destructive behaviors keep them from ever breaking out of the club circuit.
Last night, Jess and Lisa brought their show to the sweatbox also know as Station 4 in St. Paul, MN. The set featured tracks from critically acclaimed Hook Me Up morphed into a full on rock show that literally is dead on. All of the songs held up under the translation and vocally the twins hit every note with emotion. However, despite a great mix of old and new songs, the whole set lasted only 57 minutes (including encore).
Just after the show, a line was organized outside of their tour bus on the street in front of the club. Approximately 50 fans waited to meet Jess and Lisa. After some time, the two came out and took pictures with the first 20 or so, and then went back through the backstage door with no explanation. Where did they go? None other than the bar inside the club to have drinks with their friends. Awhile later the Jess exited and blew right past those that had continued to wait.
On September 27th of last year the review of their show read “It was a great performance that included a signing after the set, although Lisa and Jess have drifted a long way from the fan friendly attitude seen on previous US Tours.” The next day Jess chimed in at the official T2 MySpace with the following comment… “And as for our attitudes towards fans..we have all the time in the world for our fans. We appreciate every single one..signing and taking lots of pics… chatting etc.” Hmm… you be the judge.
