Interview: Mindless Behavior

Tommy2: What’s up, it’s Tommy2 and we’re in Minneapolis hanging with the guys from Mindless Behavior at the Mall of America. So… guys lets get each of you to introduce yourselves and in addition to your name, why don’t you share the big ticket item you’re hoping to receive this Christmas.

Ray Ray: Yo what’s up, it’s your boy Ray Ray and I want a car. I wish I could get a car for Christmas.

Tommy2: Any particular car in mind?

Ray Ray: A Camaro.

Roc Royal: Umm… this is Roc Royal and, actually what I want for Christmas is a drum set. Yeah.

Princeton: What’s up, it’s yours truly Princeton. I don’t really want anything for Christmas. I usually become really selfish and want everything, but I’m just happy I’m going home, and I’m with positive people, so I’m good.

Prodigy: Yeah, this is Prodigy and all I want for Christmas is just to have fun with friends and family, and that’s it.

Tommy2: Alright, and first of I want to tell you guys congratulations with #1 Girl.

Roc Royal: Thank you!

Tommy2: It spent 10 weeks straight in the Top 100 selling albums and you guys are clearly the #1 teen act of 2011 out of all the ones that came out this year. You guys are the top, it’s great.

Princeton: Wow!

Roc Royal: Thank you, we appreciate it

Tommy2: Now you just wrapped up a two hour autograph signing. How’d that go?

Princeton: This is Princeton, I think I could speak for all of us. That was probably one of the biggest crowds we’ve ever had at a signing. It’s usually it’s like 500, 600, and today it was like 3,000. So it was definitely shocking. But it was just fun seeing the fans, it was our first time here at Mall of America.

Tommy2: Are your fans always that loud?

Princeton: Yeah… more than that.

Prodigy: Yes, but yeah they’re always that loud, but it was a different kind of loud today.

It was echoing all throughout the mall.

Prodigy: Yes.

Ray Ray: Yeah.

Tommy2: So how has the Scream Tour been going for you guys?

Ray Ray: This is Ray Ray, the Scream Tour was great. We actually finished the first leg of the Scream Tour, but we added six more dates starting December 27th, so we’re really excited. But the Scream Tour, we have a lot of fun.

Tommy2: Since you’re spending so much time with each other these days, I’ll bet you guys know each other quite well. Let’s go around again and talk about what the one thing the person sitting on your left would be lost without if they couldn’t have it on the road.

Princeton: This is Princeton, Prodigy is on my left. I think the one thing he cannot live without on tour is his iPod, and yeah… his iPod and his laptop now because he loves to make beats on Garage Band and then his side projects, he loves dancing in the mirror, so yeah. And his cel phone.

Prodigy: Oh yeah, I gotta say Roc cannot live without his hats or his dogs. Yes.

Roc Royal: Hey now, what about my phone, my iPod, and everything?

Prodigy: Of course that… but that you can’t live without?

Roc Royal: Oh yeah, you’re right.

Ray Ray: This is Ray Ray, Princeton can’t live without his peace sign and his wig, well… his hair.

Princeton: I actually have multi-color ones, so yeah.

Roc Royal: And this is Roc Royal and Ray Ray is on my right. And one thing he can’t live without is his art book, his laptop, his phone and…

Prodigy: Yeah, but all of us’ phone, iPod and laptop.

Ray Ray: We all just got the iPhones 4s.

Prodigy: Yeah, I’m about to get one.

Tommy2: With all your touring, I know you get asked a lot about school and your education. Of course your getting home schooled. What things have you been learning about in the last couple of weeks.

Princeton: Well, this is Princeton, sometimes our schedule gets really hectic, whenever we have a lot of promo. So there is some days when we miss school and, but for the most part lately I’ve been working on English. Just different stories about that – I’ve been reading “The Diary of Anne Frank” the second time.

Roc Royal: Yeah, this is Roc Royal, I’ve also been doing work on English. I’ve been reading the book called “Absolute Power”, yeah!

Ray Ray: This is Ray Ray, I’m into Spanish!

Roc Royal: Oh yeah Spanish!

Ray Ray: And I love to draw, so I learned how to say The Artist – El Artista. Yeah, El Artista.

Prodigy: And I’ve just been reading the book, “Lemony Snicket.”

Tommy2: Good… that’s a good one. Since this whole thing has started for you guys a few years back, what has the most rewarding experience been so far?

Roc Royal: This is Roc Royal, actually performing on The Soul Train Awards – that was really cool, and actually releasing our hit single “Mrs. Right”, it blew us up quick.

Ray Ray: Yeah, this is Ray Ray, I would say performing at The White House, and just headlining the Scream Tour. That was really, that was really amazing!

Princeton: This is Princeton, mine… it may seem small to other people but, I used to go to this dance rehearsal/dance studio – The Millennium, so I got my picture up there with all the other artists

Prodigy: I gotta say the White House, yes.

Tommy2: Among all the acts you’ve toured with, one is the Backstreet Boys. Obviously there’s a little similarity there, do you guys see the whole boy band thing coming around?

Princeton: Yeah.

Prodigy: Oh yeah!

Princeton: Yeah, it’s been a decade since an Urban boy band has been out so it feels good to just bring the fans what they want.

Tommy2: Looking to the future, what things can we look forward to in the future… like you guys got any big plans instore?

Prodigy: You could see us with movies out, just everything, doing everything.

Ray Ray: Yeah, winning Grammy’s, Oscars, just a lot.

Princeton: And staying together, and still coming back to the places that pretty much built us.

Prodigy: Like Radio Stations, everything.

Tommy2: Well thanks a lot for your time guys, it’s been fun.

Mindless Behavior: Thank you!
