
On Saturday, May 13th the Historic El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, CA rolled out the red carpet for the launch celebration of Disney Channel’s Musical Phenomenon ‘High School Musical’. The main stars of the event were on hand, as well as others who played smaller roles such as Chris Warren Jr. (Zeke) and Kaycee Stroh (Martha). Other celebrities at the event included: Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana), Lindsey Shaw (Ned’s Declassified), Rondell Harrison (That’s So Raven), and Lisa Rinna. Last night on AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 5, Zac Efron was in the audience to watch the top 3 perform three songs each. Those three songs were picked by Clive Davis, one of the judges, and one by the contestant. Clive sat down with each contestant to deliver his song choice. The contestants were flown back to their hometowns where their mayor delivered the Judge’s song choice to them. Footage from their hometown visits and their visit with Clive were shown during the show. Here’s the songs that were performed:

This week the Soundtrack to High School Musical will continue to be a top ten seller despite new releases by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nick Lachey and Jagged Edge. Fefe Dobson’s cd has undergone some minor changes to its tracklisting. Basically it’s the same, just ‘Troubled Girl’ has been taken off and two new songs have been added (‘In The Kissah’ and ‘Man Meets Boy’). It’s still on track to be released on June 20th.

Yesterday Apple Computer released the new MacBook line which replaces the popular consumer friendly iBook family of computers. New features include a 13.3 inch widescreen display that is much brighter than previous models, a built-in iSight Camera (for video chat), Remote Control,The new models come in three different versions and pricing starts at $1,099.
