Savvy performs at Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary, Macy’s iHeartRadio recap, Alyson Stoner and Mdot perform Boyfriend, Jesse McCartney flashback photo, The Avengers top the box office around the globe, An American Girl: McKenna Shoots For The Stars

As the Girl Scouts of America celebrate their 100th Anniversary we continue to see amazing events featuring some of our favorite acts. On Saturday in DeKalb, IL Savvy was featured as the headlining act for the celebration at the NIU Convocation Center.
The event began at 11am with an opening ceremony that included Savvy singing America The Beautiful, followed by giving the audience a preview of what was to come with a performance of their new single, Young ‘N Reckless. After the short opener, the group signed autographs and took photos with fans for 90 minutes.
At 4pm, it was Savvy’s turn to perform and they gave their biggest fans – Marie, Sierra and Amber (Front Row Girls) the opportunity to introduce them. As the intro music played, the crowd chanted for Savvy in anticipation of their return to the stage. Finally, the time for Alan, Andrew, Drew, GiGi, Shaylen to come out had arrived and they were greeted by cheers as they strutted out dressed in black and gold variations. The show opened with the anthem styled number, Top Of The World. Within seconds it was obvious that a lot of things had changed with the group. The most visible was their new choreography by Chucky Klapow and the amount of energy they were putting into the show. Without pausing, it was time to put your hands up for Top Of The World, followed by Without You, written by PJ Bianco. Both of the of tracks featured vocals Andrew and Shaylen who at times resembled the good old days of Zac and Vanessa. Alan then came forward to ask the audience if there were any fans of Michael Jackson, and then dedicated the next performance to him. What followed was medley that included iconic moves to the classic tracks – The Way You Make Me Feel, Smooth Criminal, Billy Jean and ended with the inspirational song, Man In The Mirror . After some dialogue from Drew and a photo by Alan they continued on with a cover of Down by Cash Money labelmate, Jay Sean which had the whole crowd singing along by the time they hit the chorus. As the music faded out, they continued on to show their vocal talents by singing it a cappella. Next, Alan broke the news that they only had time for one song, but they’d end it on a good note with their new single, Young ‘N Reckless. This time around the crowd was warmed up and reacted completely differently than earlier in the day. Savvy responded by putting everything they had in to their final number and it was off the charts. As the music ended the crowd immediately broke into an encore chat, unfortunately not today. Alan, Andrew, Drew, GiGi, Shaylen exited the stage and walked through the crowd to the hallway where they met with fans for the next 90 minutes!
Overall the show was a perfect fit for the event. Savvy put together a solid set with a powerful opener that just kept building song after song, and then erupted during their final song. In just over 30 minutes, they managed to connect with the audience and have them hooked. Not only did they deliver on stage, but at the end of the day spent over three hours signing autographs and taking photos with approximately 1,000 fans.
