Groundbreaking news! Apple has introduced iTunes Plus – a new DRM-free, high quality audio format. You can now purchase songs from some of your favorite artists who have material in this new format that will work not only on an iPod, but any MP3 player!

On July 17th, Walt Disney Records will be releasing a physical CD single for the surefire hit What Time Is It in anticipation of the soundtrack event of the summer, High School Musical 2. What Time Is It marks the first commercial single to be released by Walt Disney Records in over a decade.

Things are moving along with Aly & AJ‘s upcoming release Insomniatic. According to Amazon, pre-orders are starting to come in. They’ve recently moved up from 33,000 to 6,807 in less than a week! Here’s a look at the tracklisting.

Allen Alvarado (Corbin Bleu’s costar on Flight 29 Down) meets up with Topher Grace from Spiderman 3 at the Los Angeles premiere of the hit Broadway musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Allen is a big Spiderman fan and told Topher that his “Venom” character was his favorite.

According to a look at data from MediaBase did you know that Aly & AJ‘s only song currently getting played on Pop Radio (not including Radio Disney) is Never Far Behind? Kinda makes you wonder why they didn’t include a song that radio programmers have warmed up to on their original debut Into The Rush. Speaking of Aly & AJ, fans might want to hit the phones as their new single Potential Breakup Song has failed to debut on the Radio Disney Top 30 Countdown even though it’s 23rd on their playlist? Hit the phones and push it to the top!

Based on information online, it looks as if after all these years we’ll be seeing Nikki Flores debut This Girl in stores on September 4th.

Over the weekend Radio Disney added two new songs to their playlist. What Time Is It? from the Soundtrack of High School Musical 2 and an edited version of Rihanna’s single Umbrella.

This morning you can watch The Click Five on Backstage with Barry Nolan on CN8 at 11:00am ET. The guys are back and still putting on amazing shows, although we’ve heard their new set doesn’t feature even one song from their debut Greetings From Imrie House.
