First thoughts… Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam Blu-ray/DVD Combo. Visually the 1080p picture looks great opposed to the compressed 720p image delivered by cable. Compared to previous titles, it’s really a barebones release. The additional scenes/songs Different Summers and Walking In My Shoes almost feel as if they were cut from the film for this exclusive. SPOILER: Especially since Different Summers features Mitchie answering YES and performing when the invitation is given to Camp Rock to show their stuff at the bonfire. Did you find it odd that they didn’t answer the challenge during the televised version of the movie? Walking In My Shoes is just an extended version of Luke Williams and Tess Tyler’s rehearsal. Extras include a 5 minute interview of Chloe Bridges and Matthew ‘MDot’ Finley hosted by Alyson Stoner in addition to a five foreign music videos to promote the movie (most are 480i, despite the claims on packaging). I enjoyed the full extended version of the movie better than the original, but the extras were serious lacking. Not one gag reel and what about the alternate ending that was shot with Camp Rock winning?

Gotta love that bump! As suggested here on Sunday, sales of the Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam soundtrack rebounded over the weekend. In fact, sales increased 58% over last week with over 28,000 copies sold. For those keeping score, the soundtrack has sold 109 thousand copies, just 80,000 shy of the 189,000 sold by the original Camp Rock soundtrack in it’s first week.

For so many emerging artist trying to make in on the airwaves it is devastating for their fans to have a road block to vote for them.

It’s been awhile since I’ve had news on Monet Monico, and I’m excited to share that today she’s heading off to Hawaii to do some work in Peter Burg’s new movie, Battleship.

That was fast! Less than a few days after confirming her exit from No More Drama, Camille Abordo has released a music video for a song she wrote at age 12 called Bye Bye. For you old school pop lovers you’ll want to check this one out… lyrically and musical it feels as if this could’ve been on Play’s 2002 debut. Tommy2: Good, good, now to start things off why don’t you guys each introduce yourself and also mention your age and your birthday.

Andre Burnham: I’m Andre and I’m 17 and I turned 17 on August 13th.

Forrest Burnham: Okay, my name is Forrest with two R’s and I’m 14. And if I really wanted to push it I would had a 1/2 on there, so 14 1/2.

Alex Burnham: When’s your birthday though?

Forrest Burnham: My birthday, oh my birthday.

Alex Burnham: Feburary…

Forrest Burnham: February 20th.

Alex Burnham: And I’m Alex and I’m 18 and I was born on January 14th.

Tommy2: So Andre did you have a good birthday?

Alex Burnham: Yeah it was great. You know it was actually during… on my birthday we played a show which was really awesome. We played at, the Jonas Brothers had a softball game when they were playing ESPN. It was awesome we kinda played at the preshow for that.

Tommy2: Ahhh… pretty cool, pretty cool. Now you guys are with Island Def Jam. About how long ago did you guys sign with them.

Forrest Burnham: This is Forrest, I think we got signed about nine months ago. I think it was…

Andre Burnham: November I think…

Forrest Burnham: November… October, November…

Andre Burnham: We’re actually in the… this is Andre. We’re actually in the room we got… we actually first showcased to L.A. Reid. It’s really cool except for their is no pool table.

Forrest Burnham: There was a pool table and they moved it.

Andre Burnham: We’ll have to find out where it is.

Forrest Burnham: I think Jay-Z’s moving back in.

Tommy2: I heard something interesting happened with that pool table huh?

Forrest Burnham: Well, what happened was… so we showcased for L.A. Reid and he loved it and stuff, so I challenged him to a game of pool. And so we were playing, and I won. I don’t know how, I normally am the worst person in the world at pool, but I pulled it together that day and I beat L.A. Reid. And that was pretty cool.

Andre Burnham: We think that’s what got us signed.

Tommy2: Maybe you just had your game face on, huh?

Andre Burnham: Yeah… I think he just well under pressure which was part of it.

Tommy2: Okay, now was that an eye opening experience for you in terms of like the business aspect of the music industry?

Forrest Burnham: What, what… beating L.A. Reid in pool?

Burnham: Hahaha!

Tommy2: Hahaha…. no, the contract?

Forrest Burnham: Oh the contract, what contract?

Andre Burnham: Yeah, no… this is Andre. It was really amazing to play for him and you know see all that kind of stuff. The business aspect of it is definitely completely different than the music aspect of it. I guess that’s why the call it the music business.

Tommy2: Maybe next time with that pool game you could put some wagers in terms of the contract and you your cut, huh?

Alex Burnham: Everybody always says that, that Burnham should’ve played for points that day!

This summer the errors at RadioDisney.com have been beyond the point of questioning if those in charge even care. I hate to sound like a skipping record on this topic, but when they can’t even spell Hannah Montana correct (or notice it) on the homepage you know something is wrong. Six weeks ago I contacted personnel in Burbank about the graphics for Matthew ‘Mdot’ Finley and Cody Simpson not loading correctly on the Top 30 Countdown page. To date the issue has yet to be fixed. You’d be surprised how many errors exist on the site that have been there for years.

A nice rebound! While most of the news hasn’t been all that great regarding Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, interest in the soundtrack picked up over weekend. At iTunes late last evening, Camp Rock 2 ranked #1 in Album sales.

VEVO, which gets 80% of their audience from YouTube, gets 58.5 minutes/viewer per month. Hulu.com gets 158 minutes per viewer, about 4×40 minute shows or 8 x 20 minute shows per month. Hulu is not in danger of replacing broadcast TV, but the numbers are growing…

It ain’t High School Musical, that’s for sure. The Fast National Ratings are in for the premiere of Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, and fall significantly short Disney’s expectations. Here’s a comparison of how Camp Rock 2 ranks among other Disney Channel premieres.

High School Musical 2 – 17.2 million viewers
Wizards On Deck with Hannah Montana – 9.3 million viewers
Camp Rock – 8.9 million viewers

What’s laughable is the spin Disney Channel is putting on these ratings by suggesting in a new press release that the Camp Rock 2 Opening Night Box Office Equivalent is $63 Million dollars. Just because people watch a TV show, doesn’t mean they’ll pay $7.95 for it – especially large families. Come on, what type of Mickey Mouse con job is that?

This coming week it’ll be interesting to see how strong Camp Rock 2 soundtrack sales are now that the movie has aired. A healthy uptick in sales should be expected, perhaps even putting it back in the Top 10.

Rockin’ the retail world! This month two T2 featured acts score some great exposure at retail outlets. Allstar Weekend can be seen at Costco and Tamar Kaprelian at Best Buy daily in their TV sections.

The Cartoon Network has set up a mini-site for Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster starring Hayley Kiyoko from The Stunners. The World Premiere for the movie will be October 16th. Last week shooting wrapped for the Disney Channel Original Movie Lemonade Mouth that features Hayley alongside Bridgit Mendler, Adam Hicks and Chris Brochu.

5pm CST – Radio Disney presents part two of “On the Set” with Camp Rock 2 and a pre-show hosted by Ernesto Martinez that leads to the TV telecast.

7pm CST – The cast of Camp Rock 2 hosts the world premiere of Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam on Disney Channel U.S. with an audio simulcast on Radio Disney. A mobile video simulcast of Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam will be available for Flo TV, MobiTV and Sprint TV.

What did you think? Yesterday, Apple announced a stunning new lineup of redesigned iPods, a new iTunes 10 application featuring the Ping social network for music, and a new Apple TV for just $99. Plus a preview of what’s to come with the iOS.

First it was iTunes gift cards that gave Tweens and Teens to buy freely online without a credit card, now – it’s Facebook. USA Today has the latest on Facebook Credits cards that can be used with Zynga, CrowdStar and PopCap games.

On November 30th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 as a 2 movie collection on DVD and also as a Blu-ray combo pack which will include 4 discs: both movies on DVD AND Blu-ray. Here’s a look at the extras!

Fantasia DVD Bonus Features:
- New Audio Commentary with Disney historian Brian Sibley
- Disney Family Museum (approx. 5 minutes) – Walt’s daughter Diane Disney-Miller takes viewers on a tour of the new Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, California featuring a very large exhibit on Fantasia and most importantly, the Schultheis notebook with long lost Fantasia production notes found in more recent years in the walls of a convent.

Viewers are offered a look at the origins of pieces that were started by Walt, such as “The Emperor and the Nightingale” which was then taken over by a very young John Lasseter. Ultimately, Musicana was stopped to begin production on Mickey’s Christmas Carol, but the memories of this piece still live on with the animators who conceived it.

From bad… to worse! Sales numbers are in for Week 3 of the Camp Rock 2 soundtrack and they aren’t good. Last week the album sold approximately 18,000 copies, putting total sales at around 81,000. Adding insult to injury, Kidz Bop 18 outsold the highly anticipated Disney soundtrack by 6,000 copies. (source: HITS Digital Ventures)

Following the success of high-energy singles According to You and Shut Up and Kiss Me, Orianthi showcases her softer side with her new single Courage, featuring Lacey from Flyleaf. Grab the track – which features yet another stand-out guitar solo – now on iTunes. Orianthi and Lacey are set to film the song’s music video in the coming week.

Maximo TV has video online from Picnic-In-The-Park World Premiere of Tinker Bell And The Great Fairy Rescue at La Cienega Park in Beverly Hills, CA. It includes comments from a few voice in the film – Mae Whitman, Raven-Symone and Michael Scheen, in addition to Disney stars Jason Dolley, Maria Canals-Barrera and almost the complete cast of Shake It Up starring Bella Thorne.

James Cameron’s mega hit Avatar will be re-released on November 16th as a collector’s edition containing an extended version of the film with 16 extra minutes as well as another version of the film which features 45 extra minutes, even though that will be unfinished pre-vis footage. Those who have the bare-bones version released in April will be able to print coupons for this new release if you’ve signed up with the free Avatar Program advertised in the release.

How to Train Your Dragon? Seems like that’s a lesson Mickey Mouse is currently taking notes on. On Sunday night, Murphy the Dragon (who stars in Fantasmic at Disneyland) took a massive spill, which resulted in several key components being bent and/or broken. At this time, it’s estimated that Murphy won’t be operational until after the new year. Over the four years Disney has had trouble with multimillion dollar animatronics. Three years ago, the movements of the 20,000 pound Yeti in Expedition Everest were turned off due to the fact that the its movements (which have more thrust than a 747 jet) were cracking the foundation of the ride.

For the first time you can ‘legally’ watch Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. Today it is available on Disney Channel on Demand for Verizon FiOS subscribers (also available via select affiliates).

12pm CST, Apple will be announcing new products at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco, CA. Among the products expected to be announced are new iPods and Apple TV’s.

At 5pm CST, Radio Disney presents part one of “On the Set,” a special telecast from the set of Camp Rock: 2 The Final Jam. It will also be available at RadioDisney.com.

At 7pm CST Disney Channel will be airing Another Cinderella Story starring Selena Gomez and Drew Seeley for the first time. Odds are high this film will feature some video and audio edits to fit within their programming guidelines.

Also at 7pm CST, Tom’s of Maine Facebook page, will kick off Wicked Fresh! Wednesdays free online chat series kicking off with Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen from the Twilight series and Dr. Cooper on Nurse Jackie), who will give fans a peek into his life both on and off set. The Wicked Fresh! chat series is open to the public and questions for Peter will be accepted prior to and during the chat session.
